Road Safety - Rainham Speed Checks

In response to concerns raised by local residents about speeding on Lower Rainham Road and Lonsdale Drive, Medway local officers carried out speed checks and a speed survey on 3rd November 2025.

We’re pleased to report that, after monitoring over 100 vehicles, not a single vehicle was found exceeding the speed limit.

This is great news for road safety in our community! 

Local officers will continue to monitor this location and conduct further checks to ensure everyone stays safe

✔ Always stick to the posted speed limit – it’s there for your safety and others.
✔ Slow down near schools, crossings, and residential areas where pedestrians may be present.
✔ Avoid distractions – keep your eyes on the road and hands on the wheel.
✔ Drive to the conditions – reduce speed in bad weather or poor visibility.
✔ Remember: Speeding increases stopping distance and risk of serious collisions.
